Dungeon of Zaar: When Hearthstone meets XCOM! Demo available

Dungeon of Zaar is a turn-based and squad-based tactical. We wish to bring together the quick games and friendly design of a title like Hearthstone with the challenging tactical gameplay of XCOM. Battle through the ancient Dungeon of Zaar, build your dream team of mercenaries, and claim the Throne!

The game focus on multiplayer but with a bit of solo content (training against the AI, solo missions).

Demo:

We just released a pre-alpha demo (multi only) and the local mode is clean so you can play on the same device against a friend or play a bit against yourself just to see how it works and feel at this early stage of the development.

However, the online mode is quite unstable. You can still try to play the online mode but you might encounter a weird bug announcing the victory or the defeat too early without apparent reasons.

We just launched our Kickstarter and Greenlight campaign if you wish to support us on either platform. That will get you a huge thanks from the whole Dungeon of Zaar team!

TREX and Muscle Sam: A New Kickstart! Playable DEMO

“TREX and Muscle Sam: A new Kickstart!” is the new installment in the “TREX and Muscle Sam” universe, born in 2009 with the game “TREX and Muscle Sam: Big Trouble in SPF” and deepened with the Italian comic series in 2010 comprised of 25 issues .

This new game is a reboot of the original adventure game. It will broaden the universe created in “Big Trouble in SPF” and the “TREX and Muscle Sam” comics, featuring a new story with both old and new characters.

It’s very hard to explain the plot of the game without making big spoilers, so the plot described in the teaser will be very synthetic:

Two failed tag team wrestlers, TREX and Muscle Sam, try to achieve success with unorthodox methods, but in the end who plays with fire gets burned!

The setting is a world where pro wrestling is real: the wrestlers are not acting, they’re actually the character they play and the storylines are real life.

The two protagonists, TREX and Muscle Sam, are the sons of two legends of the tag team wrestling working in the same company where their fathers had a fundamental role in its creation. Unlike their fathers, TREX and Sam are not very successful on the ring and don’t have many fans.

TREX is an egocentric maniac that tries desperately to achieve success, but is actually an insecure nerd on the inside. He’s Muscle Sam childhood friend and he’s one of the few people that can understand what he says.

Muscle Sam most distinctive tract is that he’s an anthropomorphic cat, but it’s not a weird occurrence in a world where everyone impersonates their gimmick. He’s not a very talkative guy, mostly because very few people can understand what he says. What Sam thinks is a mystery: sometimes he acts like a very brilliant person, sometimes like an instinctive animal.

Forget everything you thought you knew about Miciosegone’s games, the previous games were free amatorial projects; this time we’re doing the best we can do.
For comparison, it took us three months to make the demo of “TREX and Muscle Sam a New Kickstart!”, in the past it took us a month to make “A Cat’s Night 2: Orazio goes to town” and ten days for “A Cat’s Night”; our two most famous games.

This game will ensure hours of play (between 7-10) and dozens of originals characters, locations, puzzles and entertaining dialogues.

We’re going to launch The Kickstarter Project of the game in two weeks (first half of March).

The Nascent: an Anecdote of Aetherholme a Kickstarter.

The Nascent: an Anecdote of Aetherholme

Now on Kickstarter

RICHMOND CA, Feburary 8th, 2016 – Fox and Badger Studios has launched its Kickstarter for its first game “The Nascent: an Anecdote of Aetherholme” for Windows and Xbox.

“..Execution after two nights.” The CLEman states in a heavy sentencing. You’re asking what for? “Your vomit has broken the Wizard’s Teletransit platform. Disrupting morning commute is a short sentence.” I’ve told you, all prison time is a death sentence, it is just how long… what are uh.. What you rolling the die for? You stab the guard? STAB THE GUARD? You’re in a public transit hub! Fine, Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Roll for initiative.

You get the jump on the unsuspecting guard, your halfing stature makes it difficult to reach your foe.. Is that a… is that a Crit? Fine. You vault into the air, planting your feet upon the guard’s chest, you grab his gorget and stab your dagger into his eye. Gore splashes upon an armed Blacksky Company merc. You begin to hear loud whirring and see coalescing clouds of blue fly towards the aetherengines on his armor as he gathers the ambient aether to collect the rapidly growing bounty on your head. This is your fault, remember that.

The Nascent: an Anecdote of Aetherholme is a humorous and meta 2.5D adventure platformer full of rich lore and plentiful character. The Nascent is a deep and busy adventure that fits comfortably in line with the “Metroidvania” tag, taking anywhere from two to six hours. What makes The Nascent stand out is our story and our humor, we have a wonderfully talented actor who plays the Narrator throughout the game keeping you constant company while you run through our Aetherpunk dystopian city that is an involved character in itself.

The Nascent will be a solid game with a wonderful blend of geeky, meta, and tabletop style. It will be an experience you will remember, with the sense of homebrew, friendly and comfortable humor will stick with you like those chips between your cushions.

Big Cow Studios releases demo for nonlinear adventure The Last Time, Kickstarter going strong

Big Cow Studios (aka Daniel Black) recently released the demo for its upcoming nonlinear point-and-click adventure, The Last Time. It’s been a huge hit, featured on Gamejolt and played by thousands, with an average rating of 4.6. The Kickstarter campaign is also going strong, 52% funded on day 11 of 30.

The Last Time is an adventure game which combines retro graphics and game mechanics with modern nonlinear storytelling. You play as Jack Glover, a retired police officer. Due to a tragedy which occurs in the prologue (playable in the demo), Jack has withdrawn from society – until a mysterious phone call starts a series of events which forces him back into the real world. Now, he must face some new challenges: his physical frailty, his ignorance of modern technology, and his fear of connecting with people.
