Garden Clerk, Tenebra Studios’ upcoming retro game

Great news for Retro Games aficionados!

Tenebra Studios, a Greek game development and digital interactive software company, has hinted about the release of its retro inspired puzzle exploration game with a sinister dark twist, titled “Garden Clerk” !

The game features exploration, reflex based riddles and puzzle solving ala legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening, with all the 8bit glory accompanying it.

It is made in Pico-8 with many modern features like, high-score table for competitive play, save/load system, real-time reflections and particle systems. The competitive edge of the game is that each labyrinth/dungeon can be solved in an optimal way, with the least amount of steps taken while collecting all the available keys and opening all the chests. In your adventure you will meet NPCs and stores, alongside signposts that will help or hinder you.

Unravel the true story behind the titular Clerk in this new retro pixel flavored game. You can watch Garden Clerk’s trailer here and download the demo from here.

Main buttons used by the game are ‘Z’, ‘X’ and the arrow keys. You can also use any standard USB gamepad attached to your PC. By holding down ‘X’ you bring up your inventory and ‘Z’ handles the rest of the interactions.

The full version is still in development with the target release on Q3 2020. The suggested pricing will be at €2.99 on multiple platforms, initially available on PC, Windows, Linux, MACOSX and Android.

The Nascent: an Anecdote of Aetherholme

Now on Kickstarter

RICHMOND CA, Feburary 8th, 2016 – Fox and Badger Studios has launched its Kickstarter for its first game “The Nascent: an Anecdote of Aetherholme” for Windows and Xbox.

“..Execution after two nights.” The CLEman states in a heavy sentencing. You’re asking what for? “Your vomit has broken the Wizard’s Teletransit platform. Disrupting morning commute is a short sentence.” I’ve told you, all prison time is a death sentence, it is just how long… what are uh.. What you rolling the die for? You stab the guard? STAB THE GUARD? You’re in a public transit hub! Fine, Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Roll for initiative.

You get the jump on the unsuspecting guard, your halfing stature makes it difficult to reach your foe.. Is that a… is that a Crit? Fine. You vault into the air, planting your feet upon the guard’s chest, you grab his gorget and stab your dagger into his eye. Gore splashes upon an armed Blacksky Company merc. You begin to hear loud whirring and see coalescing clouds of blue fly towards the aetherengines on his armor as he gathers the ambient aether to collect the rapidly growing bounty on your head. This is your fault, remember that.

The Nascent: an Anecdote of Aetherholme is a humorous and meta 2.5D adventure platformer full of rich lore and plentiful character. The Nascent is a deep and busy adventure that fits comfortably in line with the “Metroidvania” tag, taking anywhere from two to six hours. What makes The Nascent stand out is our story and our humor, we have a wonderfully talented actor who plays the Narrator throughout the game keeping you constant company while you run through our Aetherpunk dystopian city that is an involved character in itself.

The Nascent will be a solid game with a wonderful blend of geeky, meta, and tabletop style. It will be an experience you will remember, with the sense of homebrew, friendly and comfortable humor will stick with you like those chips between your cushions.
